Independence Day 2013

For the Fourth of July, we went to Roosevelt Lake with Grandma and Grandpa!  (Me, being the airhead that I am, forgot to take pictures, until we were pulling out.)  We were all sun burnt, and too exhausted for fireworks by the end of the day.

Lily fell asleep the moment we put her in her car seat.

Samuel, on the other hand, he put up a real fight.

Before he finally succumbed to the beckoning of Dreamland.

And check out these mile markers, those are for you Manj!

Can you see the "Jesus Saves" sign in the background?  Ba ha ha!!  Love it.

Arizona Renaissance Festival

Once upon a time, we went to the Renaissance Festival with some friends and their kids.

We watched Adam 'Crack' Winrich crack whips.  He holds 9 different Guinness records for whip cracking- one of them being "The Longest Whip Ever Cracked", it was 216 feet long, excluding the handle.  He had an amazing performance!  (You need to check him out at your nearest Renaissance Festival.)

Photo by Brian Clark.  Found on Adam 'Crack' Winrich's Facebook page.

And we watched jousting!  This was our gypsy, Marja.  She.  Was.  HILARIOUS!!
I want to go again next year just so I can hear the funny things she says.

Both images of Marja were found on the Arizona Renaissance Festival's Facebook page.

And this was our knight, Sir Maximilian.  Apparently he was the "bad" guy, but whatever.

And we also met the Woodland Fairy. . .

AND WE RODE AN ELEPHANT!!
(That was the most awesome-est part of the WHOLE thing.)

I have no idea why I didn't post this like 2 months ago.
Don't judge!

A jean quilt for Samuel

Back in January I made a jean quilt for my little sister's wedding.  However, I fell in love with it, and I thought it looked too girly for a wedding, so I kept it for Lily!  *insert giggling*

But we still needed a jean quilt for the wedding, so I made a second jean quilt.  And I fell in love with that one too!!  I wanted to keep it also, but . . . I didn't, because there was no way I could make a third quilt before the wedding day.  Anyway!

Samuel told me that he wanted a new blankie too- which I thought was a great idea because all of this blankets are a little small.  He wanted one just like Lily's but with tractors on it.  I set to work and it took me about 5 months, but I finished his jean quilt with tractors on it.

Blood work for Lily

This is a weird chair. . .  Oh, what are those things?

Ummm . . . that's cool.  Thanks for the bow.

So what are you doing now?

Oh, wait what?  You want me to look over here?  At the flowers?

WHAT IS HAPPENING?!?!

I hate those flowers.

"Ok.  My turn!!" - Samuel

My arm doesn't bend anymore.
